Charming holiday cottage with awesome sea view!

Very nice location with breathtaking views, right from inside. Furniture not super comfortable for sitting, and the place is a bit run-down. They have 2 refrigerators, one of which you shouldn't open because it emits a horrible fish smell -- they should replace or get rid of this appliance!

Great house and location, though a bit worn for the price.

This view was unbeatable. Waking every morning to this was priceless. Kitchen was well equipped which is important because there really aren't many restaurants nearby (generally 20 min drive). Hit your groceries in the city because selection nearby is limited. 2 of the beds were super comfy. 1 is actually a sofa sleeper and not comfy. 1 of the bedrooms is in a room with no curtains. Privacy wasn't a concern, but if you are light sensitive, that could be a consideration. Home was very quiet/peaceful. We loved our stay. Highly recommend walking Goat Rock beach nearby.

Have stayed here previously many times. Always enjoyed the view and coziness of home. However, overhead lights in primary bedroom did not work, couldn't get the thermostat to run the heat even though replaced the batteries, and a tear in the screen allowed bugs in. House needs work. This is also the most we've ever paid to stay here.

We had a wonderful 3 days at the Cliff Cottage location. Cool architecture, great windows and deck right on the ocean bluff! We would definitely stay again - you won't be disappointed :-)

View was amazing from back deck, stunning honestly. The cover photo is a little misleading but may be old because the deck looked nothing close to this, it was gray and weathered with a few screws sticking up from boards. Home is older and it shows but we were okay with that. No instructions or directions on how to walk down to the beach, says a 10 minute walk in property description, we had to get in the car and drive down to Wrights Beach. Overall was a good trip, we just wouldn't spend this kind of money on this property again.

We loved the Cliff Cottage - totally charming way for us to escape the Sacramento heat! We also saw many whales from the deck, which was an added bonus! We stayed for 2 nights, but wished that we could have stayed for a week.

Cliff Cottage proved to be a wonderfully relaxing home that, even in the fog, allowed us to take joy in the sound of the waves and the crisp salty sea breeze. This home is lovely and quaint, comfortable and warm, and we were thoroughly able to sit back and unwind during our week on the coast. The description was accurate, the amenities were on-point, yet the photos did not do this home the justice it deserves. It's lovely! It would be helpful to have a railing available at both the front and back stairways, and some kind of differentiation to the kitchen step-down into the dining area, as those can be tricky for older guests. It would be a bonus to have access to a landline to call out, as cell service was, in fact, spotty to no-existent. We loved our stay, and hope to be back again! Thank you for your hospitality!

I have used Bodega Bay Escapes for 25 years for good reason. They have great properties, clean and well located, and the staff is hugely helpful and responsive. I keep going back over and over and will continue to do so. The Bodega Bay Area is a slice of heaven on earth.

Lovely and relaxing- one problem was the Regrigerator starting to scream and We needed to turn it off and use other Fridge.

We have been renting this home since 2017 and couldn’t be happier. Most of the time we watch the whales moving north from the back deck. Home is always clean. This home is loaded with charm and we will continue to go to Bodega Bay in the future.

I love Bodega Bay Escapes, the rental houses they provide and their excellent professional service. The house was wonderful, with a perfect location and view, and excellent access to beaches and walks along the headlands. I can’t say enough how wonderful it was.

We've been renting this house for years. Amazing ocean views from the deck. The house is well maintained & comfortable. The staff at Bodega Bay Escapes are friendly & care about their guests. Love this place!!!

We all had a wonderful time. The only problem we had was the step down to the dinning area. I took a bad fall. Floor coloring is the same. We all tripped on the rugs curling up in the hallway and living room. Otherwise the home was absolutely wonderful. Of all the houses we have rented we all said it was the best. Very comfortable beds. Kitchen well equipped. BUT THE VIEWS WERE THE BEST.

Although some of the furniture and pillows need cleaned or replaced, we still were able to relax and spent the majority of time on the outside deck overlooking the ocean. ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous!
It was extremely convenient to have the washer and dryer to wash towels and sheets. Unfortunately one of the beds had dirty bedding and bedspread which smelled like someone’s old perfume.
We also encountered ants in the kitchen, so you must keep everything sealed or in the fridge.
This is our 3rd stay at Cliff Cottage and this is the 1st time we’ve noticed somethings not being quite up to par.
Despite these minor inconveniences, the pros definitely outweigh the cons when staying at this perfectly located cottage.
We took short drives to Bodega Bay and Jenner for supplies and take out, both convenient short trips.
We loved our beach vacation and plan on continuing our visits on a regular basis.

This was the second time we have rented this home. Obviously we love it! Always clean and well appointed. We are headed back this winter with other family members renting their homes on the same street and have no idea if the whales are running but it doesn't matter because it is just so restful there. Looking out at the ocean and Wright's beach is amazing. Walking down to the beach is just a short jaunt.

This cottage far exceeded the pictures available online. Quiet and cozy with amazing views of the ocean. We slept better on vacation than at home probably lulled by the constant waves gently crashing on Wrights Beach. Lovely stroll to the beach from the house without having to get in the car. Would do this again in a heartbeat.

Have rented Cliff Cottage many times and it never disappoints. Only problem this time was the Mr. Coffee machine, but that was minor. Lovely view and comfortable house. My husband loves the steam shower. Were able to get in early to catch the game.

We have stayed at other houses on Cliff Ave, Wrights beach a favorite spot for us, the Cliff Cottage is our favorite house. Sunny, bright, warm and cozy. The living area was a great spot to just relax and take in the spectacular ocean views. Attention to design and detail throughout.

So happy cliff cottage is back, love this house and the beautiful courtyard and view of Wright's Beach. Only hiccup is we couldn't figure out how to start gas grill, more specific directions in rental binder would have been helpful but we just pan fried dinner instead.

I have wonderful old and current memories about my stay at Cliff Cottage. The view, and stylish comfort bring me back year after year. I do worry that increasing costs as the years go by will prohibit me from being able to rent.

My stay was absolutely wonderful. The house is in a beautiful spot overlooking Wright’s Beach and is very comfortable and well appointed. I love being there and will continue to come again and again. The only thing that could be improved is the slow internet. It is a truly special place and I loved every minute there.

The house is as good as advertised! Incredible view, clean house with anything you might need. Five minute walk to the beach.

What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy spending time with our good friends! A glass of wine, the ocean view, the sound of the surf and front seats to amazing sun sets was all we needed to unwind.

The house is in a wonderful location. Looking out on the ocean and beach was beautiful. The house had everything we needed. There is plenty of sitting room in the living room and the gas fireplace was perfect to take the chill out of the room. It is a short walk to the beach. The house has two bedrooms but one is a loft without a door. The bedrooms could use some updating, but I would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Cliff Cottage for 4 nights in May and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location cannot be beat. The home has a large sitting room with a superior view of the beach. And since it is somewhat removed from Route 1 it is really quiet. The kitchen was a decent size and well appointed so that we could make breakfast each day. We also used the grill on the deck for dinner one night. Very cute home. The decor could use some updating but honestly that did not bother us--the home was clean and well maintained!

Love this yearly treat to myself and friends. I've been coming to Cliff Cottage for 14 years. Its sweet cottage beauty is well maintained, and of course, the view is stunning as always. The hot tub was out of order which was a hugh disappointment, but the owners took a small amount off our stay to make up for that. Look forward to next year!!!

I can't say enough about this spot. I want to come back again and again and again. The house itself is roomy with lots of seating with an incredible view of the ocean. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay from pots and pans, coffee makers and spices, which is really convient.
The bed downstairs that I stayed in was extremely comfortable and i slept really well. Can't say enough how important that was.
The table outside was awesome to have, as well as the outdoor lawn chairs on the deck. The hot tub was incredibly enjoyable, worked well and had an awesome view. The steam room in the bath room was a really cool added bonus as well. The bar b q also made the stay extra enjoyable so you can grill up health meals.
Goes without saying the view was incredible, watching the sun go down while waves crash up on the beach was beautiful to say the least.
Check in and check out we're seamless.
All and all as I mentioned, can't say enough about this place. Perfect place to relax and all the added features make it that much more enjoyable.

I would definitely love to come back and bring others so they can also enjoy how wonderful this place is.

Love spending time with college friends in this wonderful and scenic house! We have come here twice a year for the past 10 years and are never disappointed!
Just an FYI... Dining table needs to have leg fixed as it is busted. We almost lost our entire dinner to the floor when one of us bumped into it! Hopefully, it will get fixed or a new table bought before next time!

It was perfect. Cliff Cottage is a wonderful house, comfiortable and well kept. It has a deck overlooking Wright's Beach with a phenomenal view. The folks at Bodega Bay Escapes could not have been better. They are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and professional. I loved it!

Beautiful. We LOVED the home. The kitchen was well stocked a bit scattered, but we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the sheets and bedding being so crisp and clean.

Can't say enough regarding the view- MAGNIFICENT. I don't know how it could be better. We all were in awe. Also, it was so nice to have the spa already warmed.

Charming cottage with fabulous view. However, it appeared that no one had cleaned out the kitchen cabinets and drawers since 1959.

Our stay was a most relaxing, beautiful experience for the week away. The sights & sounds were wonderful. The cottage was cozy & had all of the things we needed to be as comfortable as home. The weather was perfect & the sunsets were beautiful. Could have spent more time there easily.

We were overwhelmed by the openness of the floor plan and the views were even better than the photos showed! Plenty of room for our family and far enough from town to feel away - but close enough that we went to Duncan Mills more than Bodega Bay. We will definitely be booking this one again soon.

Our trip was incredible. The view from this home is exceptional and we absolutely loved the openness of the living room area. The property management company was great to work with. The home could use a deep cleaning (handprints on the screen door, dirt in the corners), but was overall very nice. The hot tub seems pretty old and a little funky. We didn't try it because it was too much work to clean the debris off the cover

From the phone call to arrange our stay-to our arrival and walking into Cliff cottage, we were impressed. Bodega Bay Escapes made it easy and pleasant. The home we rented was so charming and the views were magnificent. The house was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the short walk down to the beach. I would most certainly recommend this property again and can't wait to come back again! We did our own cooking as we didn't want to leave our place! We went to Salmon Beach to do some tide pooling as suggested in your book. Thank you for the great customer service, beautiful home, and relaxing get away vacation!

Been renting this house for years & will continue to do so. What's not to love about this little piece of paradise...comfy house, awesome views, long walks & peaceful surroundings.

We would recommend the house but could not get TV reception at all. Detailed instructions are needed for non-techies. Beautiful cliff top location with easy short walk to the beach. Have rented several houses at Bodega in the past and this is the most cheerful and welcoming yet. We did have kitchen ants which may be problem in most of these cliff houses.

It was absolutely incredible! The house was so comfortable and the view was out of this world! I would and will return! Everything was perfect. Check in was a breeze as was check out!

Beautiful location. Beautiful views. House was nicely equipped. Beds were comfortable as were the loveseats in the living area. TV reception was fuzzy with no ESPN.

I'd give this a 5 star review, but that means there is no room for improvement, which is highly unusual in a vacation rental of this type. Amazing location, very cozy and welcoming decor; hot tub, barbecue, and steam shower were added bonuses! Front entryway was nice and without the drought, would have been even better. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a great beach house with the perfect view!

Great view, hiking etc. House condition is OK. Good place to relax. Not so good place for children, as there is not much children activities around.

We celebrated our 48th with a return to Duncan's Landing and our first stay at spacious Cliff Cottage. It was a great stay. The kitchen is fully stocked, the living area glass expansive, the downstairs King bedroom oh so comfy. And the gas fireplace, very realistic with glowing embers, took the chill off our foggy evenings. We cooked in all but one night of our 5 night stay, purchasing our crabs across the harbor near Fisherman's Cove and our oysters and fish at The Tides, otherwise shopping at the super Safeway in Petaluma. Fabulous!!! Thanks Bix for maintaining your cottage so nicely. One note: the thermostat in the older model Sonoma Platinum grille is on the fritz and lighting the burners was a hit and miss affair even for agent Mike. A very small inconvenience and out shadowed by far by the hot tub!

Cloudless skies, light to no winds, temps in the upper 60s daytime, it's that perfect weather window that occurs sometime early in the year on the Sonoma Coast - and we caught it. We've been vacationing for more than 10 years now at Cliff Cottage because it's such a relaxing and comfortable home-away-from-home. Now if someone could just figure out how to get credible internet service there, it would be the perfect year round vacation location.

Romantic getaway spot with an English garden and outstanding views of the ocean in every direction. Although it was not, the beach view felt like it was just for us. Thank you for making our 25th wedding anniversary a memory we will not forget.

Our stay at Cliff Cottage was fantastic! We spent the Christmas holidays there and waking up every morning to the crashing waves and having the ocean as your backyard was fantastic! We had one of the most relaxed holidays! Cliff Cottage is very homey and comfy and we would highly recommend it to be your next stay! We are regulars who use Bodega Bay Escapes and highly recommend using them to book your stay on the Sonoma Coast. They are accommodating, easy to work with and love Jennifer and all the girls who help make our stay so positive! We will be back to stay in another home this summer!!

Beautiful setting. The great room and kitchen had a spectacular view of the ocean. Very relaxing. Property in good conditon overall. A few fittings were old and broken.

Location, View, Amenities, Climate, are unbelievably awesome....I highly recommend renting this house...

I rented Cliff Cottage for 3 nights for my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. I visited them for one of the nights. We loved cliff cottage. The location was perfect, and the view fantastic. And, all photos accurately displayed the property, which was both cozy and elegant. The one problem was that many of the lights had burned out lightbulbs and/or appliances had dead batteries. I recommend that the management company ask cleaners to check the operation of lights/appliances/remotes, etc. between guests.

Because of the location of this cottage, we enjoyed our stay. The view could not be better. But in general, the cottage could certainly use some maintenance as it is looking "tired".
The beds were fine, the living room furniture fine. The kitchen was bit of a problem. It needs repainting as the counter top edges were permanently sticky, the paint in the kitchen is nearly worn off in places.
Small things like there being 4 night lights in the cottage which are needed because of the steps up and down but not one of the four worked. So simple to upkeep if anyone would check. The clock in the kitchen I'm sure just needs a new battery to work. We were left with empty bottles of dish washing liquid and general cleaner.
The outside Adirondack chairs - we didn't want to touch them, let alone sit in them. Again, they just needed cleaning up or some maintenance on them. The first couple of days we were there the temps were up and the living room was HOT. Unfortunately the windows on the bay window would not open which would have let in the sea air because the handles were both broken.
The bush next to the BBQ is touching, some leaves already burned and to me, was a fire hazard.
This cottage could be a real gem. It desperately needs some TLC.
I would recommend this property to friends if some investment is made into the property so that it looks like the photos once again.

The cottage is delightful and the views are amazing.

The home was a good size and looked nice though, livingroom furniture was not real comfortable. Ant traps around didn't give a clean feel but we did not have any pest issues. Activities in the garage woke us up at early hours of the morning 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. Don't know what was going on but very uncomfortable. Loved the views. Spacious living area for hours of gorgeous ocean experience. Rental company always a pleasure, always friendly.

We had a wonderful time and the house was lovely. BIG fans of Mr. Steam, such a nice perk in an already great location. The views of and access to the beach were tremendous. The succulent garden, gorgeous and soothing! I would definitely return to this location.
