The Starship

I planned a special birthday getaway for my friend on his 80th birthday. I was so happy the Starship property exceeded my expectations. The house is open, spacious, quiet, with sweeping views. As expected fully equipped, kitchen, linens, clean house and very comfortable beds. It was hard to pack up and vacate. I felt at home at this property and didn’t want to leave the Luxury Coastal Living on the Golf Course.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen is nicely supplied with everything you would need for a get together and sitting surrounded by windows at the table. Lovely stay

The house was nice and clean, minus the awful ant problem, which they gave us traps for. However, at a minimum a bbq/grill would be nice, as you have great views and it would have been nice to grill some oysters with those gorgeous sunsets. Simple things, like having beach chairs that go with the beach towels they provide would be helpful, and simply providing some sort of activity like fuse ball, ping pong table in the garage, etc. The house was nice but bare to the bones truly, and you can tell the owners are doing the least as possible.

We are already planning our return! Through a stroke of luck, we ended up staying at the Starship instead of the home we had originally booked. This home definitely has a much better location and view within Bodega Harbor. It is comfortable and has a really nice atmosphere (vibe ;). As with most of the homes in that area, the layout is very unique. A few tips: The only outside area to hang out is in the back of the house and directly across from where golfers are teeing off. It's not a safety issue but if you aren't into sharing your space, you might not enjoy it. We didn't mind and the view of the ocean and Bodega Harbor from there is beautiful. The other thing is that the beds are small. The main bedroom is a queen but the other two are small for two adults to share. Also the linens could use an upgrade...the bedding is microfiber and hot! We ate at Rocker Oysterfeller's for both lunch and dinner. The chowder there is so good! The Tides restaurant was a total disappointment. Doran Beach is one of our favorites as it's safe, no sleeper waves, and perfect for a nice long walk (better if you could have your dog with you!) Have fun!

What a great location and comfortable house. Big kitchen and living area, windows look out over the golf course and ocean views.Landscape quite lovely as we enjoyed our lunch out on the patio. So looking forward to coming again.

Older, fairly well kept up home on the golf course with beautiful ocean views. We also enjoyed the occasional deer and quail as they meandered through the property in the morning and evening. Had a delicious meals at both The Tides and also in Valley Ford at Dinucci's. We appreciate the help from the property management staff in helping us select our vacation rental. We were not disappointed and wouldn't hesitate to book the Starship another time.

The house was wonderful for a family of 5 with plenty of space and all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed golf , kayaking and drinking wine on our patio! Restaurants were great. We loved the views of the ocean, golf course, and sunsets! We would stay here again for sure.

Our family of four decided to book a last minute weekend getaway in Bodega Bay. The Starship was perfect! The location and views are amazing, the house is well kept and very clean, and the booking was easy. We did everything Bodega Bay in such a short amount of time - the kids played on Doran Beach, ate lunch at Fisherman's Cove, took an easy drive into Guernville for some shopping, stopped at the winery minutes away and kept eating good food! The Starship was a warm and homey place to slowly wake and have coffee and a great retreat after all of our adventures. We will surely be back!

Every year we come to Bodega Bay to attend a family/friends' clam dig event. This is the third year we have rented this home and of all the homes we have rented over the years for this event, this is home is our favorite. It is always clean, has a terrific view, and accommodates our family wonderfully! Shhhhhh, please keep it a secret!

Wonderful house! Sunny and bright. It was a perfect place to celebrate our daughters birthday!

Super Location-Very quiet and comfortable- I have several Airbnb/VRBO executive rentals- This was extremely nice-A flat screen in the master and Keurig would have been nice. Time for water to get hot was bothersome - but the overall made up for it.

This home was very clean and inviting. It was a lovely home overlooking a golf course and the ocean. We watched deer and blue herons grazing on the lawn each morning. We will return to this most relaxing home. We thank the owners for sharing their rental with our family.

Went for a girls weekend in July. The weather was amazing. The house was clean and inviting. Well stocked - even though we didn't cook. Easy check in/out. 3 bedrooms which was perfect. Close walk to the beach. Only thing, the master bedroom doesn't have a closet accessible. Therefore, if you are looking for a long stay, it may be a little inconvenient. They may think about putting some type of cabinet for clothing. Oh, and the fireplace only had candles. Missed having the fireplace atmosphere. But all in all, it was a great house. We will be back!

I rented the Starship for the weekend and it was just a beautiful getaway. The home is beautiful with a spectacular view of the ocean. Weather held out so we were able to do some walking around the neighborhood. Went to Tides Restaurant for the two night dinner. Tides never disappoints.

Perfect location for golf and beach access. House was clean and had comfortable beds. We look forward to coming back soon.

The house has a beautiful setting. Plenty of room for 5. There are stairs, but not too many. It’s an easy walk to the beach. Two suggestions: If you plan on cooking there bring anything extra such as oil, seasonings. The only thing provided were salt and pepper. Also I would recommend bringing your own pillows. The pillows are foam and very hard.

The management company isn't doing the owners any favors on this property. It is in a nice location and the views are great but no one is actually managing the maintenance of the house. Light bulbs are out in every room, what few bulbs actually work in the dining room are blinking and shorting out. There was one tissue left in the only box in the house and there are no hairdryers available. The lighting fixtures come complete with cobwebs and resident spiders and the carpets are stained (They are super light in the first place so that's a tough one for a rental.) At $600 a night one would expect some basic amenities, a well-maintained residence, maybe a $10 hairdryer or two and more than 3 chairs outside. It was just disappointing to travel halfway across the country and have to deal with these annoyances. It's a really special house so it is sad that the property manager ruins the guest experience by not taking care of it.

Nice property with amazing views. Fairly well stocked, however no hairdryer. Master bedroom has no opening windows (so gets a bit stuffy) and zero closet access, so no place to hang anything. No local TV, so watching anything is a bit of a challenge (like a sporting event live).

Had some issues with the cleanliness of this property but as always the rental company was responsive. This home seems a bit run down but if you know that going the views can make up for it.

The Starship house was such a pleasant surprise. The view was spectacular and the house was very comfortable.
