This is a beautiful home with fantastic views. The kitchen was well equipped, beds and bedding extremely comfortable and the layout of the home was very nice. I would rent this home again. As always the Bodega Bay Escapes staff were kind and accommodating. I’ve always had the best experiences with them!

The view is great. We spent many hours sitting at the window watching the “sky and ocean” show. Kitchen and bathrooms are nice (new appliances, new toilets). I had complained about a few things in a review after an earlier visit — deck with a flimsy gate that would not stop a dog who spotted a deer, a missing window screen, no hot pads in kitchen. Those things have been fixed. The carpet is stained — as a Dog Mom, I get it (and I appreciate being able to bring my dogs to this house). We appreciated the nice coffeemaker (Cuisinart) with permanent filter and nice electric kettle. Great to have access to the garage and a remote for the garage door. Layout is nice for house-sharing — master bedroom on front of house, other bedrooms further back.

Absolutely Fabulous

Our recent trip involved variable and extreme weather at the coast. A windy and wet storm arrived on our second day and two windows started to leak. Casey was sent out quickly with rags to mop up the leaks on the sills and carpet. When we mentioned there was a fireplace but no wood, he returned with wood and Duraflame logs (all in the midst of pouring rain and wind gusts.) The third day was sunny but that afternoon the battery in a smoke alarm started to fail, cheeping loudly every 45 seconds. The office was closed so I called the emergency number and 45 minutes later a woman arrived, hauled the tall ladder up from the garage and removed the battery; it was determined that the unit was defective so Casey returned with a new smoke alarm that he installed. This is why we are fans of the rental agency because they respond quickly and cheerfully to any problems that arise.

Our family stayed in Moonrise Kingdom on December 23-27, 2023. We had a fabulous time! The house was perfect for all of us and our small dog. The layout was easy to navigate and worked well as the bedrooms were away from the living room. The expansive kitchen with amazing amenities made it easy to make many holiday meals. One small suggestion would be for the owners to provide oven mitts and more potholders. The only potholders available were crocheted and very small.

Prior to our stay I had read in the reviews that one guest was annoyed over the "stained carpet". While the carpet had some stains, it still felt clean. Keep in mind that this is a pet-friendly house, and a few stains on the carpeting is a small price to pay if it meant that we got to bring along our furry friend.

The house was tucked away in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood well away from the busy golf course. While it had close beach access the trail down to it was a bit harrowing towards the end and I wouldn't recommend it for kids or the elderly. Just an FYI.

I would absolutely recommend Moonrise Kingdom to a friend! The house was clean and well-maintained. We're hoping to be able to plan another stay soon!

The view is fabulous. Loved the two chairs by the window. Living room and dining room had nice furniture. The master bedroom bed was comfortable, and my friends said the other two bedrooms had comfortable beds. We appreciated the new Samsung appliances. The house was clean, but the carpet is very soiled/ stained. One of the windows in the living room — a second-story window — had no window screen. The deck furniture looks nice — but all of the furniture was so low to the ground that none of us could imagine using it. The deck is missing a gate — there’s an opening with just a baby gate across it. My 17-pound dog could push that baby gate out of place if he saw a deer back there in the open space. The kitchen didn’t have even salt or pepper. The only potholders were the kind I “wove” on a small “loom” as a kid. I got to the house before my friends did. Emailed my friends to bring slippers (to avoid having sock-covered feet touch that carpet, salt and pepper, and modern-day potholders that would truly protect our hands when we used the oven. I’m on the fence about whether I would recommend the place to a friend.

Since our last visit to this home in late March the owners have replaced all the kitchen appliances, making this home even more amazing. The layout of the home is perfect for us and our son and family (two little girls). They can arise early and be at one end of the house while we can sleep in. The furnishings, linens, and art are wonderful. I love to cook and the kitchen is well equipped with everything one would need. This visit we enjoyed watching the crows (ravens?) that perch on the trees opposite the gulch. We were visited by a doe and fawn who came up to the interior deck. It's nice having the preserved open space at the back of the house and great views of the hills and bay from the spacious and light-filled living room. We plan to return often. As I said in my former review, this is the nicest home we've rented in the 25+ years we've been coming here. Since there are no homes across the street this is a very quiet spot. Lots of people walking their dogs along the road but that's about it.

We've been renting homes in Bodega Harbour since the mid-90's and this home was by far the best. The home was beautifully appointed and had abundant and comfortable seating from which one could take in the amazing views toward Pt. Reyes. My family likes to cook so finding a well stocked kitchen was a treat. The bedrooms were nicely separated and the floor plan so well designed that the older folks could sleep in past the grandkids' 6:30 wake up time. Since the views from the kitchen and bedrooms were of echiums (no houses) we felt nicely secluded. The interior courtyard was a great place for the family dog to hang out. We plan to rent this house in the future.

Wonderful house with a great layout. Loved the close proximity to the walking beach trail and omg the view! Perfection!

This is the third or fourth time we've stayed with Bodega Bay Escapes and it was as always a wonderful experience. Looking forward to next year too!

It was a beautiful experience. The home was spacious with a overall clean environment. The view was beautiful. It was a great sight to see the fog and sunrise ride over the top waves of the ocean as the sun rise and set.

We rented this place for a family reunion. It has great space for large groups.

The "Endless Views" from this house were spectacular. Even better, we were 50 yards from the trailhead and could walk to the beach in five minutes. The open floor plan was so nice for our family Christmas. And the friendly staff pointed us to Spud Point Crab Company, which sent us home with some of the best clam chowder we'd ever had! Thanks, BB Escapes, for another rejuvenating weekend away.
