The Cabin

We were looking forward to sitting outside on lovely deck but weather was foggy and misty so stayed inside with our clam chowder from Spud Point. Lots of windows and very bright inside. Loved it and would recommend to anyone for a restful weekend.

Perfect size for a couple and happy our dog was welcome as well. The place was very light with lots of windows. Liked the non carpeted floors. Lots of electrical outlets since nowadays we have many chargers to plug in. Appreciated the high speed Wi-Fi and option of Netflix being included. Very clean and comfortable. Peaceful location, fenced deck. I found the staff very friendly and will look at this site for future rental.

This is my 3rd time staying at "The Cabin". It's out of the way, but close to everything. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. The views are incredible. Although there is a coffee maker, the only thing I'd recommend is a Keurig! I'll definitely stay here again, and soon! Thank you Bodega Bay Escapes!

Our stay was memorable, weather was a little raining but we expected that. We have stayed here many times and it's perfect for a ocean get a way. We visited the beach and went for a hike and enjoyed the views. Love to come back soon.

Checked in Saturday February 3rd right before the big storm ⛈️ We have stayed here before and really enjoy this little cottage. However, the floor was covered with dead ants! Took us an hour of sweeping and wiping the countertops ending up with several piles ugh Called Pam and she said that she would refund the cleaning deposit. Lost power Sunday afternoon and it finally came on Wednesday morning. Good thing it has a gas fireplace and stove, but no hot water We made due and had fun anyway.

The Cabin is a quiet, simple but fully equipped beach house. I come here each year to get offline and off-the-clock. I begin and end my days with a beach walk (just down the road and over the dunes). I often plan a day or two visiting wineries and eating out--there are many great choices! Clean, well-maintained and equipped.

This was my third stay at this lovely cabin and I can't wait for the next one. It's cozy, quiet and well appointed. Very clean. If you love watching birds and hearing the surf all night--this is a great place!

With our baby being 18 and the two of us being in a place where we can vacation just the two of us again "The Cabin" was amazing. We love Salmon Creek and have stayed at many vacation rentals over the past two decades while raising our kids. The creek was alive with birds and the binoculars left on the dresser were used often. We saw a buck and a bunny in the yard as well.

We had a great time and very relaxing. The deck was great to sit and watch the sunset. Location was perfect to walk down to the beach and town was close to get what you needed.

This is my second time at The Cottage. It’s a sweet little cozy experience that is clean, well equipped and adorable. The bed is super comfortable and the couch perfect for lounging after a Long Beach walk. The beach is a short 5 min walk away and you can leave the window open to hear the surf at night. It’s a perfect getaway!

My husband and I took a small spring break at this sweet little cottage. We enjoyed watching the birds on the creek, got to do a little stargazing on Saturday night and had a nice walk down to the beach to spend some time walking and watching the surf. At night, we could hear the ocean and in the morning could see the white caps of waves. The house was well equipped, clean, and very comfortable. Shower had good pressure! We look forward to our next stay there! The only thing I would suggest is a clear and easy to read set of directions for the heater (including location of thermostat). We figured it out—but it would have been nice to have it simplified. The experience didn’t affect our stay—we loved it.

The cabin was a great place to stay beautiful views we enjoyed watching all the birds

It was a good location. Right near the entrance to South Salmon Creek Beach. The cottage was nice except we had trouble with the heater stove and the toilet stopped up just as we were leaving.

I have rented from Bodega Bay Escapes (BBE) on multiple occasions over the years. They are top notch. This solo-trip was very last minute. I called to see if they had any last minute openings and sure enough The Cabin on Salmon Creek was available. I was blown away when I got there. The cabin is at the end of a row of cabins lined along serene Salmon Creek. The cabin is charming, comfortable, and clean. Immaculately clean. The cabin has windows on all sides providing beautiful light and pleasant breezes. I was mesmerized watching the array of birds. One night I watched as four deer emerged from the tall grass across the river to drink from the river.
I would highly recommend this property - it's great for solo travel, a couple or a small family. The location is excellent as it's a short drive out of central Bodega Bay and a quick walk to the ocean. I also recommend Bodega Bay Escapes in general - they are professional, friendly, accommodating and they have the best properties in the area. Other vacation property management companies in Bodega Bay I've rented from in the past just don't compare.

We really enjoyed the Cabin for 2 nights in June 2021. It was a quiet location, walkable to the beach and driveable to town. We watched the birds and bbqed on the deck at night. Only complaint was the bed was a bit rickety and the roof leaked on our last night, possibly because of foggy conditions. Thanks!

We liked the waterfront cabin. It was clean and comfortable, close to town and the beaches. Very relaxing. I feel it would be a good idea to send customers a brochure of their particular vacation home. With information and not limited to, but including: Pet friendly, distance from nearest stores, communities and the companies office. The binder full of information was awesome by the way.

The Cabin is a delightful little cabin for two. The description and photos from Bodega Escapes where exactly accurate of the property. The cabin was clean and well maintained. I loved being on the river at Salmon Creek. The cabin had a wonderful deck and a very short walk to the beach. We had a wonderful dinner at Lucas Wharf as well as a great lunch at the Tides. We drove up to Bodega Head for a great view of the ocean, then explored the cute shops in Bodega Bay. It was a peaceful and relaxing few days. Wish we could have stayed longer. If you are looking for somewhere to relax in a peaceful atmosphere I highly recommend ‘The Cabin’. I can’t wait to go back soon.

The cabin is in a great location overlooking the Salmon River with birds galore, ducks and deer. What a fantastic place to stay! We stayed three nights arriving on a Thursday to find ourselves alone with nature’s solitude. The ocean can be found right up the road with a 5 minute walk. You can also drive to the parking lot if preferred....we did both.

The deck was the highlight of our trip. Sat out there for hours on end. The cabin has just about everything you need. You don’t need to bring anything for the kitchen. Only need refrigerated condiments and your favorite spices. The bed was amazingly comfortable which has a dense foam pad on top. The T.V. is large with cable and lots of videos to watch. The shower was wonderful, lots of hot water and flow (they have a tankless water heater). The bathtub was huge and we had a relaxing bath one night. The only negative for us anyway is not having a barbecue and maybe a table with chairs to sit at. Bring your hairdryer, Q tips, shampoo, etc.

Bodega Bay Escapes is the best management company we’ve ever experienced. They were right on it when we complained that there was no cable the first night. It was fixed instantly! And, the girls are super friendly and you can tell they are really into their jobs of making people happy. They also have quite a large movie collection to take back to the place.

The best thing to describe “The Cabin” is relaxing, get into nature, and zen out for a while. I felt so refreshed after staying here and it will linger on for a lifetime! Highly recommend!

Very relaxing in a cool little cabin. Great for 2 people.

Great views of the creek and partial ocean views. The sound of the pounding surf was soothing. The interior was both very new and very clean. Wonderful supply or kitchenware, towels, blankets, movies, and games. The location is right near South Salmon Creek beach. Also, nearby plenty of restaurants, beaches, shops and grocery stores. I will be back to this treasure called "The CabIn".
To show how much we liked the place, our ONLY criticism was a gap at the base of the front porch steps, that my disabled wife had to hop over...very, very minor. Try it, you'll love it!

It was a lovely little studio cottage. It had all of the amenities. Really close to the beach. Sits on a beautiful creek. Really enjoyed my experience at this place.

The cabin was so relaxing and stress free... the cabin it self was super clean and felt just like home... no complaints it was perfect for my blind golden retriever, my boyfriend and I... the kitchen has all the nic nacks u need to cook a delicious dinner as we did...

Nice little cottage for two people. Loved being right on the water and waking up to the fresh air. The road that the cottage is on can get a bit busy since it is the main access to the beach. The main bed was not a queen but a double, however the sofa bed was a queen with an air mattress. My husband and I slept in separate beds because one was too small for both of us and the other not comfortable for me. There were not any instructions in plain site for the air mattress. We had to search the house to find it. The ants were not fun but not that bad. I'm sure most of the homes have them. It was pretty clean but floors could have been cleaner. I don't think they have been thoroughly mopped in a while. The weather was beautiful and refreshing. We probably wouldn't stay here again only because we would like to sleep in the same bed. A BBQ would be an awesome addition to this home. I highly recommend bringing one as you will want to sit out and eat on the beautiful deck.

The Cabin was a great place to escape for a few days, relax, and have easy access to the beach. Would definitely come back for another visit. The cabin does need a few upgrades but overall we could make it work.

The security of the Cabin is very poor with glass in the front door adjacent to the locks. The front door could be easily opened by breaking the lower right glass and reaching through and opening the door, the same with the back door.

First off, this is a great little place. This is the second time I’ve stayed here. I love the morning view over the river as the sun hits the grass across the water. I love listening to the ocean waves as I drift off to sleep. It is conveniently located near Bodega Bay. It has a full kitchen and all the basics: coffee pot, pots, pans, etc.. The bathtub is amazing: huge tub with lots of hot water. Took a bath every day.

The cons: this place needs a dehumidifier. It is damp all the time. The heater is not intuitive and no instructions were included in our welcome packet. We struggled with the thing for all 3 days we were there, never really figuring out how it works. (I have an actual engineering degree and it left me scratching my head.) On a minor note, there needs to be a place to hang wet towels. Lots of wall space to put towel racks, they just need to invest the $50 to make it happen. Last gripe, DVD player was out of service. Not a big deal but should be addressed.

These are all minor problems that were easily worked around during our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you ever get the chance.

We felt so peaceful here. We had just left a toxic smoke area and definitely
found relief here in very nice accommodations.

As advertised and more. Great location just five minutes from the beach. Lots of wildlife. The cabin is light and open and very comfortable. It was fun to sit on the deck and watch the kayakers paddle by. The property managers were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

My husband and I rented "The Cabin" for a three night stay. It was such a wonderful place to stay. We wanted to stay longer. We have rented many homes in the Bodega Bay area, and this home has been one of our favorites. It was extremely cozy and clean-two very important qualities we look for in a home. We were very impressed with the well-stocked kitchen and linens. This home was also perfect for our small dogs. The neighborhood was great for taking them on long walks. The home was very private and had spectacular views. Loved the deck!!! We will stay at this home again. We are always so grateful to families that open their beautiful homes to others.

we were very tired from the efforts of selling a house and packing......we needed this place on the creek!! For the 2 of us + our little Maltese the cabin was perfect. We had everything we needed except some deck furniture. the picture shown here shows a couple nice chairs but not there for our visit.

Our 2 night stay was perfect and the cottage is obviously a much loved family get away. How lucky were we to be able to enjoy it too.

Our vacation was a great and wonderful vacation. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had. The location was great. I would recommend this cabin to any one that wants a quite and really relaxing get away.

My son, our chocolate lab and I needed a quick get away to the beach and found this charming home available at the last minute. The location is perfect along the river...prime for kayaking...and just a short walk down to one of the most beautiful beaches in Bodega. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable bed and couch for sleeping, the internet access, the spacious bathroom, & the full kitchen. We played games, made awesome meals in the home, and brought back awesome local clam chowder. I found the neighbors added to the charm of the location as I like to truly experience the culture of the area but not all might. My only "wishes" would be that dogs were allowed on that beautiful beach (I get it's a nature preservation thing), that there were clean and comfy patio chairs & table, and that there was a dock to which we had access to launch our kayak in the backyard.

I had previously stayed at another property managed by BBE and was just as satisfied. The difference this time, there being a bath/shower combo in the rental and being able to walk to the beach/being next to salmon creek. They're prices are reasonable and I can't wait till I can come back.

My husband and I stayed at "The Cabin" March 24-26, 2015. It was a great get away after 10 months of treatment for a malignant melanoma. We enjoyed the view and watching the birds on the creek. The place is very well appointed and had pretty much everything we needed. The only thing we noticed that should probably be addressed is the water under the house which is causing moisture on the floor inside. Aside from that it was pretty nice. Loved how it is decorated.....soooooo cute! Thanks.

We had a wonderful time. The raccoon did know how to open the trash and get the trash can out of the strap. Very smart raccoon.

We love Salmon Creek, and being in "The Cabin" right on the creek was very special. We had our honeymoon in Salmon Creek fifty years ago, so being in this delightful cabin was perfect. Being able to sit on the deck near the water, and then jump in the kayaks right there, was ideal. There were a number of items that needed attention, such as no fire extinguisher, oven not lighting, ant control, garbage not picked up, etc. We've provided Bodega Bay Escapes a detailed list of these that should be attended to. But we loved the Cabin, and we'll be back!

For the price, I would not stay here again. The furniture is uncomfortable, no dining table... even a small two person one would have been nice. When bed is folded out, you can't get out the door. Futon is horrible to sit on. Chairs outside were cracked, so we didn't enjoy sitting outside. We wished we would have spent just a bit more to stay in another property with more amenities. Didn't notice there wasn't a dishwasher until we were there. Vacation is not the time you want to wash dishes. It was clean and nicely remodeled. Bathroom was beautiful. Nice washer and dryer if you need it. Quiet area. Beautiful view. This really should be priced at least $50 less a night.

Comfortable, bright and airy cabin with great water views. Great location, a short walk to the beach and a short drive to town.

This updated, comfortable cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Sonoma County coastline. You can lay in bed or sit on the deck and watch the ever-changing Salmon Creek right next to the property. Guests can take a short walk around the charming neighborhood or cross the sand dunes to a spectacular beach. Its proximity to Bodega Bay with its restaurants and art galleries is convenient, but you'll want to get back to The Cabin in time for the sunset.

House was recently remodeled and has a wonderful deck overlooking the river (Salmon Creek) They could use updated kitchen pots, pans, utensils. The couch pulls out into an airbed which was actually comfortable. Deer in the meadow, a red fox living in the bushes next door, Canadian geese, mallards, quail, sandpipers. You name it, they are there. Incredible location a few hundred yards from a pristine beach with no one on it. Extremely relaxing getaway.

We absolutely loved the cabin. Only 2 criticisms.
The sofa bed has got to go. Even with the topper thing it was really uncomfortable. A nice bed would fit right in the same spot.

There was some dog poo on the back porch when we got there. Not a big deal but it was there.

Overall though we loved it and will be back. If no new bed, we will bring an inflatable one. ??

PROS: Great location on the creek. Lots of bird watching opportunities. Good high speed internet (was able to watch Netflix). Cottage is fresh and clean. Great bathroom and washer/dryer. Gas stove was on thermostat and kept house nice and warm. Window blinds were in great shape and easy to use.

CONS: Swallows have nested in the attic space and could be heard at all hours. The management team is notifying the owners, so hopefully this will be dealt with. The kitchen silverware, pans, etc were really worn down (silverware was cheap and had rusted). The living room futon was very uncomfortable to sit on for more then 30 minutes at a time (your backside would fall asleep). Also there is no permanent bed, just a fold out air bed from the back sofa. A queen back in this space would have been more preferable.

CONCLUSION: I will be back, just with my own kitchen stuff and some extra cushions.

The location is great. Beach easy to walk to. Enjoyed walking the neighborhood. Loved all the wild life that could be seen from the deck. A few problems-no cookie sheets, Wi Fi not working and the gas fireplace quit working. But the staff was quick to being us brand new cookie sheets, a brand new Belkin and tried to fix the fireplace. A space heater worked fine in its place. The bed proved to be very comfortable and the bath tub/shower nice and big. Plenty of hot water! Wish there had been a barbacue. All in all a great place!

Just being on the water of Salmon Creek made this trip relaxing. I stayed in The Cabin over the Thanksgiving weekend. This rental was very clean and looks exactly like the pictures. This would be a 5 star rental, but there is no bed. The "bed" is a sofa bed that has an air mattress. It was comfortable, but it would be better if they put in a day bed or some other bed. The rental company was very easy to deal with--I left them a voicemail on their non-emergency phone on Thanksgiving and someone called me back that day. I would probably stay here again because it is a very comfortable and clean rental--and being right on the water is amazing!

Just one thing would have made things a bit easier when returning after dark and thats a side light where the parking is. Very dark over there. Had a great time there and would def. be returning this summer.

One thing we really liked about "The Cabin" is the kids could enjoy the beach and sand dunes, while my husband could do some fishing off the deck and out along the shore (he caught fish AND a crab!). We could hear the surf at the house, but we had the peacful creek rolling by with wonderful birds enjoying the water. The house itself was comfortable, clean and cheerfully decorated with shell/beach pictures and artifacts. I could lie on the couch by the back door with the door open and feel the breeze while looking out toward the beach. That was lovely. We had no neighbors on either side, so we had some privacy. I hope we can come back again next summer!
